I just had an amazing idea that I hope Nintendo thought of!!

I don't know if this has been posted already, but get this... wouldn't it be awesome if you could play your original Wii games on your Wii U... using the controller as a screen? You could turn off your TV and have the controller be a little mini, portable screen to play your games from! The controller has the sensor bar, so it's already capable of it!

The system just needs to come with some sort of stand for the controller and then you're good.:]
Again I apologize if this has been brought up before, but nevertheless, thoughts?

There would be a problem with the controller's screen moving a lot, since it's not stationary like a TV is. Also, you have to be a certain distance away in order for the Wii Remote to work. That means the Wii U controller would have to be moved away from you, which means you wont be able to see the screen too well.

I think it'd be neat if you could somehow configure the controller to replicate the functions of the Wiimote for some Wii games, so that you could play them solely using the U pad.

Somehow switching out the IR tracking for gyro/camera/or right analog slider control.

And of course you'd need to map the nunchuck to the left analog slider and some buttons.

Probably entirely unfeasible.

Would be cool for virtual console and CC/GCC games.

It might work as a TV screen, not as a controller and a TV screen. So it would have to be stationary to play Wii games properly with that IR sensor for certain Wii remote pointing functions.

Considering that NES/SNES (Hell, even N64 games) would look pretty bad on a big screen HD LCD, I think you're onto something.

If they made a stand and the screen wasn't too small, I could see this working.
