While I enjoyed the movie, I prefer The Super Mario Bros. Show, which is currently on Netflix.

If you really wanna see Nintendo propaganda, I highly recommend the movie "The Wizard" starring Fred Savage. Keep in mind that move was released in 1989, several months before SMB3 was released.

Actually, Super Mario Bros. 3 was already out when the movie debuted. Kind of messes with the plot a bit but it's interesting for historical purposes.

Watched this and The Room during a long weekend last year, and got plenty drunk while doing so. Such a good movie.

I actually read a article about the live action Mario movie.
Bob Hoskins said that the movie originally had a good script, until Rocky Morton
and Annabel Jankel got their hands on it.
They changed the script daily, and it was routine to throw away the new script because they knew they would get a new one next day with changes.
Rocky and Annabel were fired when they had gone $10,000,000 over the budget.
Which resulted in the crew being forced to puzzle what they had into a movie.

Nooooo! I want the Super Mario Bros Super Show. How can you not suggest this one, which is infinitely more appealing?
