Old and Senile. Miyamaoto lost his magic he needs to go.
He's that big of a threat to you, eh? :)
Yes I am afraid that his forceful shoving of casual crap like wii fit and wii music down our throats, will continue to increase the amount of developers spending their time and money making similar shovelware games to appease their new casual audience.
Thankfully only the wii suffered from that this gen, but even I want nintendo to better next gen.
Looking at the journey each console has taken, I would not make such definitive claims. The Wii is ending on a pretty high note with some pretty fantastic games Pandora's Tower, Xenoblade, The Last Story, Skyward Sword, and Dragon's Quest X.
While you may see the past of Sony and Microsoft being untainted, there future is quite the opposite with Microsoft pushing everything but gaming while forcing Kinect into all of their games while Sony is trying to find a new use for their camera system with the Move trailing behind the Kinect in support.
You might be a Harry Potter fan and may dream of reading along your PS3, but I hardly consider that innovashun anything but casual(going by your implied definition).
I guess throwing your hands around may make you feel like a real wizard, but Fable: The Journey seems anything but casual(again going by your implied definition).
I personally find myself yelling at football games all the time, especially when Liverpool is losing, but I would not want to yell at my games though I am sure casuals would find it more fun than pressing a button( going again by your definition).
I am certain that the PS3 and Xbox360 were the most extreme systems with the best gamers when they started with the elite few million that owned them at the start, but now their audience has been fattened by lowered prices, the addition of motion controls and fitness games, and they both have quite the lineup of very casual experiences(your definition again) as they wind down for their eventual funeral as their time ends.
Take solace that eventually your PS3 will read books to your children while you hide in the refrigerator playing Xbox 360 games on your tablet that is synched to your toaster that is connected to your system.
