Everyone is bashing Pachter but none of those haters are any smarter than him...

First of all, what he says makes perfect. Pricing affects the perception of value.

Secondly, he is speaking as an analyst, not a gamer. Yeah it sucks for you guys but what he cares is about how companies make money.

Pachter is actually quite informed. He is surprisingly correct in a lot of things considering the unpredictability of this industry. You guys pretend that analysts are suppose to know exactly whats going to happen 80% of the times. That isn't an analyst, thats an insider...

After this gen, if Sony and MS release consoles more expensive than the Wii U, and price their games higher, Nintendo's going to need to find itself some new competition.

Not exactly, as it'll actually hurt Sony & Microsoft rather than help them, as many consumers will pick up Wii U over PS4 & the next Xbox console, especially when the system & the games will be more cheaper.

If a $600 PS3 didn't work in a good economy, then a system over $400 certainly won't work in a bad economy.

Be it due to lack of care or lack of intelligence, you have misinterpreted my post.

Well, that's exactly what it's sounding like.

Nintendo would need to find new competition, because MS and Sony wouldn't be in a good position to compete.

His logic is true in some cases (like car tires, screen mesh or speakers)... I can't see it applied to video games though...

Oh, I'm sorry, I thought that you were basically saying, "if PS4 &/or Xbox 720 are very expensive, & if the games go above $60, then many people will buy those consoles over the Wii U!".

Wouldn't make a lot of sense, especially in this bad economy like this one.

So by that logic, PC games are worth the dirt on your shoes.

This is just a thought, but if Nintendo sells their games for 50 and the 3rd parties sell them for 60, couldn't that alienate some 3rd parties because Nintendo has an "advantage" where their games sell better. I mean, Nintendo is doing everything possible to make 3rd parties happy about their system. I know, its kinda stupid, but it is something to consider.

Nintendo's E3 2012 presentation was just weird and awkward. 95% of the games at launch look promising though.

The more people post about Patcher, the worst the video game industry becomes.

How does Pachter stay in the industry? It seems like everything he says never seems to come true.

Because he tricks stupid people into thinking he is smart.....

But he does know some stuff.....he thinks he knows more than he does.

He is too arrogant...

but he's not a terrible person like some of you make him out to be.
