Reason I ask is this..

It says that there is a charging station for the wii u..
I thought it was like already rechargeable through usb or something..

The gamepad has a lithium ion battery in it and the Wii U comes with a charging cradle and cable for it.

In the most technical sense... yes, it does.

But you can charge it through the system itself. I imagine that like any device that operates in this way, it will eventually lose it's ability to hold a charge.

it would be cool if there was a charging dock for the Upad that charged the way the 3ds dock charges without plugging anything into the device.

I said this a few months back and I got booed by this board.

I'd love to have a charging cradle on the side table next to my couch so I can just pick up the GamePad when I want to play, then just lay it back down when I'm done using the Wii U. I think it's better than constantly needing to have a long USB cable between my couch and the TV.

Ah, well, there's your problem right there. You can't just go around disagreeing with decisions made by Nintendo on this board. Nintendo never makes any wrong decisions. Just ask the more passionate knights in Miyamoto's Army.

From pics that we've seen, it has the same charger as the DSi & 3DS.
or is chargeable via

This is a picture of the Charging Dock Nintendo patented for the controller.

Then, of course, there are third party ones.
