Do you have to pay the full price of a console right when you preorder it?

Gamestop has a $50 minimum for consoles.
Not sure about other places but I know say amazon wouldnt take payment until it ships.

As for me, consoles usually require a deposit of 50 or more. Games usually don't even require anything, you can just pre-order for free. When games have bonuses that you get the moment you pre-order though, you usually have to pay 10 in advance.

I normally pay the whole thing up front.

But I'm pretty sure when my friend preordered the 3DS he only put $5 on it.
