Maximum SD card memory it can use?

Is there a limit to the size of memory the Wii U could use for an SD card? I wanna get the white and I just wanna stick an SD card in it and call it a day for a memory expansion. Was just wondering what the limit was for them.

I'm not sure if it even uses SD cards... it's been said you can plug in an external harddrive of any size, however.

I think it does. the Wii and 3ds do so the Wii U should too.

yeah I know but I find it more convenient to just an SD card if possible. Not much room for an external drive to sit next to it by my tv =X Although I probably could go grab one of those mini external drives now that I think about it.

It can use an SD card (one is required to do a Wii system transfer as well), it can take up to 3TB HDD so I'd assume any size SD would be fine.

We know for a fact it can support SDHC cards, which go up to 32 GiB. If it works like the 3DS, it'll also support SDXC cards, if you format them to FAT32, which go up to 128 GiB and can theoretically reach 2 TiB.
