The ps3 and 360 did but the Wii didn't. Have they fixed this problem?
Currently anticipating October's: Resident Evil 6 (2nd), Pokemon Black 2/White 2 (12th) and 007 Legends (19th).

no sadly, they are going to release a USB dongle for ethernet, like the Wii.

You have to buy a network adapter.

You can use the Wii Ethernet USB adapter....

Since the adapter is a USB cable I assume the Wii one will work on a wii U?

Yes, on says on Nintendo website that you can use the Wii usb adapter.

A decent wireless router costs less than a full retail game, so maybe you should invest in one of those.

Just buy a Cisco-Linksys EA6500. All will be right in the world after that.
