Never thought I'd get this much of an idea in my mind from a post of mine.

A recent post of mine..

http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/631516-wii-u/64301743/720144397

Don't know how I got it just from mentioning Megaman Legends, but this is what came to mind when I re-read my post.

One of the big features of Miiverse was showing games and other features that people have played/are currently playing on your menu, wasn't it? Think of this. Megaman Legends HD and Megaman Legends 2 HD for Wii U, maybe 3DS versions alongside it.
What the idea is: With the fact that there will be alot of Wii U buyers, Capcom and the fans could try to take advantage of Miiverse.
If Capcom were to release HD versions of the Megaman Legends games, the fans could then buy the games and then using the Miiverse, with the fans playing the Megaman Legends games on a regular basis, the HD remakes should then appear on the Miiverse of other people's Wii U systems who don't have the games, from strangers to friends.

When the people who don't have the game see how many people are playing/have played the HD remakes through the Miiverse, this might interest them into checking out the game and maybe even convince them into buying the games. And when those people buy the games, then their friends and other people see the games on their Miiverse that those people are playing, and the chain grows even more.

With the amount of people playing the HD remakes continually growing, this might inspire Capcom into continuing Megaman Legends 3, because there are alot more people who know about the Megaman Legends games. They might then release the Prototype demo, which then when the fans start buying and playing, then the Prototype demo starts appearing on the Miiverses of all of the people who bought the HD remakes.
And if the Prototype Demo does great, this might convince Capcom to continue making Megaman Legends 3 cause now alot of people are now aware of there being a Megaman Legends 3 possibly coming out.

Just one of those "Taking it a bit too far moments" that came to my mind after re-reading a post of mine, but hey, one can still hope, can they?

....why on Earth do you think that your idea would work for Megaman, in particular, above other games? You're sort of randomly assuming that people seeing other people playing Megaman would lead to them checking the game out, when in fact this kind of thing rarely happens, and, when it does, there's no particular reason to think that it'd happen for the Megaman series over another game.

Well this kind of is the point of Miiverse, but I don't think the effect will be that drastic for any given game.

Yeah, I definitely also see it as one of the biggest selling points of Miiverse. But I do think it will be a drastic change. Imagine downloadable games getting the same amount of weight as retail releases? This will clearly break the barrier between the two so they can start moving into more equal ground.

If it can also show you who is currently playing a game rather than simply how many times a game was downloaded, then it would be helpful if you could see Miiverse while browsing the eShop.

As for Megaman Legends though.....good luck. I'll pray for Skies of Arcadia HD.

There's already a ton of retail games that get totally overlooked though.

I think it'll basically be like an extension of what we have here on GF - people can talk about what games are good and you can get recommendations from others. But since there are so many recommendations each one can only do so much. I've been telling people to buy Shaun White Road trip for years, but there still aren't that many people who have played it, because pretty much everyone has some game that they recommend.

I don't see how that's different to what we have on pretty much every system now. There's plenty of Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Store games that are getting pushed as heavily as disc-based games, and are selling in very large amounts, and are as visible on the system (or more visible) than disc-based games.

I imagine that the Miiverse will be a matter of a few button presses away (at most ) at all times, although, again, I'm really not sure how being able to see what games people are currently playing is substantially different from what we have now.
