Wii U Screen Resolution?

I saw one in a demo unit and the controller's screen graphics were... ok. For Rayman.

What is the resolution? Will it be enough for an HD game (think: Bioshock 1 on HD).

The gamepad? It's 480p. Funny though, you're the first person I've heard who complained about the screen.

On that size screen you won't be able to tell the difference between 480p and 720p. That's the truth. If you don't believe me that's understandable but it's the PPI that truly matters. Pixels per inch. Resolution doesn't mean jack when trying to make comparisons QFT

480p. Not like it really matters considering its size and that it's not the primary screen and will be delegated to map/inventory duty 90% of the time. It has a higher resolution than the 3DS screens still...

I am not, I was curious if it would hold up to HD games.

Rayman is HD. It's probably higher res than Bioshock, too.

Mario vs. Donkey Kong is a hideously underrated game.

PPI>>>>>>resolution. Resolution only can be used as a base of comparison when screens are the same size. Jesus

The PPI is still pretty low compared to most mobile devices. Even the ORIGINAL iPhone had a higher PPI, and people could sure as heck notice the difference when going from that to the iPhone 4.

And going from 480p and 720p on a 4.5" screen is extremely obvious, at least to me, so on a 6"+ screen, it would be even more clear.

You can easily notice the difference between 480p and 720p on a 4-5 inch cell phone screen. 480p on a 6" screen is terrible.

Also lol at resolution doesn't matter. Read what you just posted. PPI is pixel per inch. Pixel is the resolution, inch is the size. Low resolution at a big screen size = bad ppi! You understand?

I just saw a demo unit myself and thought the screen on the controller looked pretty nice.
