It only kept the subtitle in Japan because of the same reason why Super Mario Bros 2 was not released in USA.

I see that it is called:

Super Mario World: Super Mario Bros 4

it is not called:

Super Mario Bros 4

So, you lose.

Also, I would love to ask you, so is Final Fantasy IV titled as 'Final Fantasy IV' or is it really 'Final Fantasy II'?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Final_Fantasy_IV

Anyhow, if it is not titled Super Mario Bros 4 in the US and people in the US wouldn't know WTF you were talking about, no, no it is not titled 'Super Mario Bros 4'.

Anyhow...

I WANT A SUPER MARIO BROS 4

Yes, people are still calling FFIV for FFII and FFVI for FFIII, simply because that's the name of the games they played.
That does not change the fact that Super Mario World was released as Super Mario Bros 4 in Japan.

Again, want to read what that title says?

It does not say 'Super Mario Bros 4', it says: 'Super Mario World: Super Mario Bros 4'.

Super Mario Bros 4 did not come out 20 years ago; it has never released in Japan nor anywhere else in the world, period.

I'll take your 'Super Mario Bros 4' and raise you a Super Mario World.

PS: The Wii New Super Mario Bros game was amazing in my opinion. I had no complaints -- and I don't even have people to play it with.

Again, no 4 in the title.

How was the NSMB series amazing, when they're dumbed down and casualized so much and all the creativity has left?

Debating about opinions is a waste of my time. If you think the game was bad, that's your prerogative, but don't fool yourself into thinking your opinion is fact.

I think the games were very creative. I like that they took inspiration from the classics. I mean, hell, how many people are complaining that Super Mario Galaxy 2 took ideas from its prequel?

And what the hell does "casualized" mean? Where do people like you come up with crap like this? Seriously. If there was something 'casual' in NSMB that was not so in the originals, please point it out. If you're claiming it was too easy, I'll raise you a 9-7 NSMBW, the hardest Mario Bros level I ever played in my life and walk away laughing.

Your insistence and obsession with the number 4 is entertaining. If New Super Mario Bros was named Super Mario Bros 4, would you have liked it more?

Super Mario World wasn't called "Super Mario Bros 4", but it didn't have to be. It was a direct sequel in spirit, and if by some freak chance you've never played the game, stop posting garbage threads on this board and pick it up today. It will be everything you ever dreamed of and more.

I don't understand why you think a "4" would make a difference. If they make a damn good Mario game, I don't care what they call it.
