How can 720\ps4 beat wii u when ppl think $350 is too much for a console?

#1knightimexPosted 11/8/2012 4:51:58 AM(edited)
Not going to happen.

No way in hell will 720 or ps4 blow wii u out of the water.
No. just no.

Slightly stronger?
Sure, it can happen.
But not as powerful as people expect.

Also wii u likely being the cheapest of the 3 consoles will help Nintendo dominate next gen gaming industry.

MS and Sony would have to sell their consoles heavy loss to keep up with nintendo as long as they enjoy the deep cuts to their wallets.

And if MS and Sony sell at a loss.

gameover.

Nintendo will have another console about 3-4 years later.
Likely More advanced.

Developers will use that console as the main development device.
Sony and MS is screwed for like another 5-6 years.

With PC, Next generation gaming is always today.
Not 5 to 8 years from now.

I don't understand why people keep comparing Nintendo to Sony and Microsoft, they're two completely different things. Nintendo consoles have always only existed for Nintendo fans to play first party games, and the other consoles are for everything else. People can argue Xbox vs Playstation all day, but Nintendo isn't even trying to compete with them, it's trying to do it's own thing.

Sigh, you truly are clueless, aren't you?

The PS4/Xbox8 will have two advantages that can give them higher power for the same price as the Wii U (or lower):

-Coming out later: This means that they can get the same tech as the Wii U for cheaper as it would be considered older, or get better tech for the same price for the same reason.

-No "innovative" controller: The lack of a controller with a screen in it means that they don't have this added cost, thus they can put more money into something that matters (more power thus longer longevity)

I've been playing Nintendo consoles since the 80's and I can tell you undoubtedly that your statement is not true. Not bashing you or anything because you are clearly not the only person who believes this. As I've seen similar statements written on these boards numerous times.

Two other things that matter greatly is that the Wii U is so small, and the max power consumption is only 75w

Don't be so sure regarding the controller though, MS may very well push Kinect 2

Very true on the Kinect2 part, no clue if they will pack it in though.
