I almost sunk 1800 into a rig earlier this year... I decided not to after playing a friends rig, I just don't want my leisure time to be spent around a PC when I work with them all week. For me, consoles curbstomp PCs just because I can have fun and detach from work.

Also I don't know why this is worth mentioning, but I have used a 45,000 PC... And it can't even run most modern games, it does have 90GB of RAM though, which I know means nothing.

Um... 8x8GB is 64GB...
If you're going to lie, at least don't be blatant about it. :/

It exist 32GB RAM modules to buy, and it exist servers with 2TB RAM.
Now 90 seems like a odd number, but it's still possible to get it.
32+32+16+8+2.

For several thousand dollars.
Also, unless he was running a server, the max supported memory is normally 32GB. sometimes 64GB for high end boards.

Sorry for late reply, it has 96GB of RAM (we abbreviate to 90) and it is a debug rig where I work, I'm unsure of the set up because I'm not a tech guy as such, but I think it has 6(4x4).

96 is closer to 100.
And isn't that a cloud rather than a single machine?

Either way, it's not a gaming machine. It's not built for it. You could spend $78,000,000,000 on a PC and have it not be able to run Quake or Doom.

The day one can legally play Nintendo games on a PC (current games at that) then PC gamers may have something to talk about.

After that, they have little to say.

It's already here, thanks to Dolphin and old DVD drives that can read Wii and GameCube games.

Gaming is like a pair of boobs - Sony and Microsoft fight over whos boobs look more realistic, while Nintendo is about having fun with them - Walkiethrougie

The key word is legally.

I saw that. And I repeat my previous statement - that day is already here, thanks to Dolphin and old DVD drives that can read Wii and GameCube discs.

You find me a real source that clearly states how that is legal and then we can talk about that in more detail.

There is no way that is legal.

That's pretty much what I've been saying, but it's like talking to wall when you mention that.

It's not illegal to copy the data off a DVD actually. You have a right to make a backup.
It is illegal to download any copyright data, though, and most people don't have the equipment to dump their own bios.
