You are correct. Unfortunately, in America everyone charges insane prices, whether at home or cellular phone. Then you have to keep in mind that there is a lot of rural area in America, where broad-band and fiber optic cable just doesn't reach. Then there are patches of cities and communities in highly populated areas that simply do not have access to these things as well. I can't get higher than 1.3 mb/sec due to my location and lack of infrastructure. Not because I can't afford the next package for another $10 a month, but because it wouldn't change anything, so its pointless to upgrade to something that my internet provider cannot offer to me in my home.
