Leaving a game on pause for longer than five to ten minutes seems pretty silly anyway. If you're gonna be away that long, save it and turn the console off.

I use to do it as a kid when playing a game with long cut scenes and my parents would make me come to dinner or something. A game like FF VII is a good example. These days however, I completely agree. Just turn it off lol

Wow, way to fail Nintendo. When will they learn that mature gamers who are mature and like the 360 don't want to be treated like babies.

Not getting the Wii U now.

Really, this was the deciding factor for you?

Pretty sure he was being sarcastic.

Either that or he was stupid.

...I call sarcasm.

It's Megagunstarman. Of course he was being sarcastic.

I'm just surprised that Windows 8 wasn't mentioned, so I'm actually kinda proud of him for that.

I wish it was off by default, but whatever.

I also heard if you wait long enough the Wii U evolves into an Xbox. So you get your moneys worth.

While yes, I agree, I once woke up an hour and a half before I had to for school, wasn't able to sleep so I got dressed up and all that and then decided to play Tales of Symphonia. Well, when I had to leave for school I was in the middle of a boss battle that had taken me about 10-15 minutes at that time (I was under leveled) and it had been over an hour since the last save point. So I paused it, went to school for 9 hours and then came home and finished the boss and then saved asap and shut it off.

So in most cases, yes I would save and quit, but sometimes you just can't.

I think he was just implying most games don't use save points anymore. They shouldn't, but plenty of games still do.

This. Otherwise you're ticking more cents to your power bill over nothing and wasting the precious estimated 10,000 hour lifetime of the disc drive's laser diode, so that's costing you money in two different ways. XD Anytime I'm going for an extended leave longer than two minutes from my consoles I always turn them off. I really care about my systems still being in working condition way past its own generation.

I once kept Chrono Trigger on pause for an entire year in the middle of the fight against Giga Gaia. I initially started the fight and had to go to work, came home and went to sleep. Then it became a thing to just leave the SNES on and not actually play the game. Amazingly it unpaused a year later and I resumed playing.

Also left my PS3 on for 6 months because I got drunk one night and forgot how to turn it off. YLOD would claim the boy's life the following summer when it was left on and the room temp reached 43 degrees (110F for the Yanks), R.I.P. launch PS3.

Why is this an issue? It exists on PS3 and 360 as well

I never new my ps3 have it xD

I don't like leaving the things on for long if am not using them. when you have to pay lot and have less, you learn that every second count.
