FAT32 isn't really well suited for large harddrives.

Well ntfs then, ok let me rephrase it, the 3ds has no problem reading file systems that external devices use(specifically file systems that windows can read just fine) the wiiU should have no problem as well.

Nintendo is basically discouraging people from investing more on digital content.

Ps3 and 360 dont do this

So its one up to nintendo for inventing their own format which cant be read by anything else

Infact its the first time ive seen it done by anything, even on pc.

360 does. can't say anything on the ps3.
although you can backup your files you save on the 360 on your computer you can't however just move it back on your flash drive, ext harddrive, etc. since how they save everything on there like your using your default backup setup without the zip flies.

No it doesn't, but it wouldn't take anything more than a system update to allow it. It's an established and documented file format and there's absolutely no reason they couldn't make the wiiU use that format.

Since it has to be formatted essentially what they've done is spend more time and money developing their own file system that at the end of the day will serve no more purpose than to annoy people. It's worse cause you can't transfer to another drive or keep a backup, yeah you can redownload everything but good grief you know how long it would take to download a TB of data.

Do you think that no Nintendo consoles support it just because?
Think about it. It's an established and documented proprietary microsoft file format.
