I don't understand the importance of analogs triggers for FPSes

There really is no point, I play plenty of FPS games on my PC without any sort of touch sensitive buttons. It's really no big deal. People are just nitpicking the WiiU controllers.

Grand.Theft.Auto.5. People what you don't get? This is the major issue with the analog trigger.

I never use e. I always just tap the triggers to control the car. Call it instinct from playing too much GTA on PS2 and PC.

ITT: Bunch of fanboys defend the Wii U lacking a basic function

seriously

literally no upside to not having them

Nintendo just said "well we're not adding them cause we dont wanna!" and their fans sit here and defend them.

Have fun with your awful racing games.

I play FPS on the PC and not having an analog button doesn't seem to interfer. Even if I play one of my PS3 ones I never notice them being needed much, if not at all. And for all the racing games ive played, I just floor it :P Mario Kart Wii worked fine as well without them.

Theres no reason not to have them, but they arent usefull for FPSes. Only for racers.

It is very crucial to grand theft auto 4. Which makes it incompatible with the Wii u. It is a huge difference from blasting to just aiming or driving like a maniac or driving like a normal person to blend in with the crowd.

I mean, I can play GTA4 perfectly fine on my PC, which doesn't have a single analogue input. And I still don't understand what exact it is about analogue triggers than helps with the crap aiming of consoles; do games like COD let you adjust how sensitive the ADS is with pressure? If yes, that's a completely idiotic decision; I would much rather have a uniform aiming speed than an unnecessarily differentiated one. Most of the time, you'll just end up throwing the button down anyway.

It's not exactly a needed thing, how often are you ever holding a trigger in a half held state? it's murder on the fingers

most people in driving games have the gas held down and when needing to slow down either let go of the gas and or hit the brake button.

And back in the golden ages normal buttons didn't have pressure either and we still play racing games just fine :p

Thank god this system does not have analog triggers. Analog triggers are basically wasted buttons for any fighter. I've never needed them for shooters and I've never needed them for racers. Worst innovation for controllers this generation.
