This lets me connect to the WiFi but as was the case BEFORE i did the OP's suggestion, I can't play anything like MK8 online.

You have to open up ports in your routers firewall, or if you have the option for DMZ, use your wii's IP address as the host. Let's you bypass firewall in short. I had the same issue as you, and can now play online.

What ports would I have to open?

Edit: I found these TCP: 80, 443, 6667, 12400, 28910, 29900, 29901, 29920 UDP: (Range) 1-65535 supposedly being the ports I'd have to enter (they're apparently the ports Wii U uses) but I have no idea how to enter them :P I see "port range" on the BT Home Hub settings but do I go TCP 80-29920 or what? Thanks
