HDTV Lag?

We all know the Wii had issues with HDTV lag. I'm wondering how much lag there is (if any) for the WiiU. I have a 1080p plasma HDTV without a good videogame setting and need to know if this will cripple my ability to play CoD (as it did for the Wii)

all HD TV's have some lag, it's not just with Wii/WiiU. if you have a newer tv then try setting it to gaming mode, it reduces lag a bit. There are some "lagless" monitors out there, but they're usually small and expensive. Alternatively try an old CRT tv and enjoy the blur

The lag one experiences when playing a video game on an HDTV has nothing to do with the console and everything to do with the TV.

There can be additional performance problems when a console upscales past a game's native resolution, but those are usually trivial in comparison, and it's not an issue the Wii ever faced.
