Cropped screen?

#1Rupin_SalesmanPosted 11/18/2012 6:50:50 PM
How come some things are not being shown on the screen? Like, the arrow on the bottom left in NSMBU is cut off, the "X" button on the Wii U menu is cut off, etc.

But when I record the system, they're not cropped.

What's the deal? Is my widescreen not big enough or something?

Is that really what the issue is?

Gee, that's odd.

Try changing the aspect ratio on your TV. There is usually a slightly wider mode.

I tried. It makes it even more cropped.

That is overscan. Most HDTV's have a menu option to adjust for this under video settings, often called "display area" or something similar. sometimes overscan settings are in a separate menu for display options such as widescreen and pc input video settings.

Because TVs do that. That's why so many PS3 games I played had an option to resize the screen.
