Should I get the cradle for $20? My system is coming next week.

3 to 5 hours.

My tablet with superior colors, resolution and power holds out longer.

it comes with a power cord that plugs into a wall outlet.

no cradle needed and playing while its in the cradle wouldn't exactly work to well. thats why the cord is provided.

Your $500 tablet?

Its said to be 3-5 hours

I wouldn't think the charge cradle is necessary though. The AC adapter for it is eight feet long. When the battery gets low, just plug it in for a while.

I give it 6 months or less until some 3rd party releases an extended battery pack of some sort.

Does the basic come with the ac adapter?

Yes, all systems come with the AC adapter. The basic is just missing the cradle/dock.

The cradle doesn't have its own power cord. You use the provided AC adapter in conjunction with the cradle.

I will say I like the cradle. Way more convenient to just place it in there rather than shoving the cable in every time I want to charge.

And for games like BO2 and Pikmin (where you use the wii remote while the tablet displays complementary info), the cradle is perfect.

At what point to you constantly play on your tablet (including constant input for 3-5hrs straight) like you do with the Wii U Tablet? Also, is there a radio in there streaming HD visuals at high speeds?.

Put the pieces together, look at it at a technical standpoint... The laws of physics don't change. :)

It also has options for the Gamepad screen where you can turn the brightness down to make it last longer. You can also turn the rumble feature off.
