How will the Wii U handle........... '' this '' ?

How will the Wii U handle these... since it has little memory :

- DLC
- Patches
- Day 1 bonus content for game pre-orders (DLC)
- No game installs (as in PS3) ?
- Future Wii U applications

All these will need more memory....

Will everyone have to get an external HDD (which needs its own power supply not just USB connection) ?

It will magically create space... No seriously what is wrong with you? Why do you ask this? You even answered your own question.

So far, the Wii only has demanded patches for online aspects of certain games. It doesn't have forced game data installs like many PS3 titles have. My PS3 had the highest demands for space, of the consoles this past generation. Only because for every other console, if it weren't for patches, there were no other mandatory data installs.

For people who really get into Wii U gaming, full on, eventually they'll probably get an external USB drive. To tell the truth, this is the most inexpensive way to upgrade to later memory space. Every other solution has costed people even more money down the line.

Many people will need some type of external storage unit- be it HDD, SD, or USB. But stop assuming everyone downloads their games. If you never download a single game you can buy in retail, you're not going to run out of that 32 gigs very quickly. Game saves take up a very small amount of space.

Yet again people dont know the difference between ram and storage space.

It's got 2gb ram
It's got 3gb of storage space (on a basic system)

Ram - random access memory , the guts of the system
HD/Flash mem - storage space for files, not usable as 'ram'

Nobody made that assumption in this topic. It was simply spoken as Memory. Something some folks use universally for all things that store data.
