How do Wii games look?

I know they're not upscaled, but are they burry? Also, are they full screen or letterboxed?

Haven't tried any of my actual Wii games yet, but I can confirm that it still stretches Virtual Console games to widescreen forcing you to manually adjust the zoom on your tv if you want to see the games at the proper aspect ratio.

If you have a good enough TV, it will do all that work for you. I have been playing Xenoblade Chronicles and it fit my screen fine first time I threw it in.

They do look better. Not Dolphin, 1080p better, but clearer and less muddy than the orig Wii by quite a bit.

They are upscaled to 1080p by the Wii U and have about 5% underscan when in 1:1 mode. These two topics of mine go into it in more detail.

I've only tried ACCF, and from what I've seen it looks noticably better, not HD but nicer, smoother.

I wasn't talking about it fitting the screen. I was talking about it stretching games that aren't actually widescreen. This is one of the few things that bother me, cause the X-Box360 and PS3 display older games at 4:3 instead of 16:9 on their own without having to adjust the TV.

Besides it still stretching, how do VC games look on the Wii U compared to the Wii?

I can't tell much difference really. But I imagine there is only so much you can do to improve the picture of an 8-bit or 16-bit game.

VC won't look any better. If you leave it at an HD resolution, they will stretch to widescreen and look awful and unplayable. If you want the correct aspect ratio, you have to lower the resolution down to SD so it'll look the same as on the Wii. I can also confirm that Wii games do look slightly better though.

My advice: Leave the VC titles on the Wii. I greatly regret transferring mine. Now I have to sit through two startup screens and fiddle with settings on both the Wii U and my monitor before I can launch a vc game in 4:3.

No improvement.
