Does the Wii U use Wii point cards or 3DS point cards?

Has anyone tried either? It's a Wii, but has the eShop, so I don't know which to buy. Just don't want to waste any money.

Thanks

It uses 3DS cards, the "Prepaid Cards".
You can, however, go into the Wii Mode within the Wii U and play old games from the Wii Shop Channel and continue to use Wii Points for those.

Just to verify, did you actually use a 3DS prepaid card, or have proof that it works?
Want to make sure since there are new cards becoming steadily available.

Thanks
