Which review sites do you take seriously?

GiantBomb and Edge, mostly because I expect critics to actually be critical and not cheerleaders

None. 90% are Frat gamers.

IGN/ Game Informer

I find that they actually balance themselves out quite well. One site usually gives a game a good score the other gives them a bad one.

If both give the game a great score then that game is a must buy. If both hate the game then obviously I must avoid!

Youtube footage.

I'll either go "Oh, that looks fun".

Or not.

Gaming is going to die again.

Any gaming review site that thrives on ad revenue is worthless. Gamespot, IGN and Gametrailers are definitely amongst the worst though.

The only thing I trust is myself. I'll watch gameplay videos to see if it looks like something I'll enjoy, play demos and get impressions from actual gamers (see: not journalists) that I believe have similar taste to me. Nothing else is worth listening to.

Pretty much. Unless its a franchise that I know I'll buy regardless, but that is becoming less frequent. TBH i watch gameplay footage and video reviews because I don't want to read lol

GameInformer. If I trust any reviewers, I trust them.

IGN usually gets paid off every so often for good reviews.

The first Smash 64 was about a kid using his imagination. In Brawl, that kid is God.

I live and die by Metacritic.

I watch a lot of gametrailers because I love their format, but I often disagree with their opinions.

IGN is the one site I don't trust at all. If one gaming website ever let ad money influence their coverage, it's them.

Destructoid and Giant Bomb get my respect, and I love Yahtzee though I don't take his scathing reviews seriously. That being said, some of Yahtzee's favorite games are my favorite games(e.g. Silent Hill 2, Portal, Bioshock, etc.) so when he falls in love with a game, like Spec Ops: The Line, I pay attention.
