At 60 bucks a pop now I'm worried about future game prices.

adjusted for inflation gaming's almost the cheapest it's ever been (PS2 era 49.99 excluded) and if you PC game and wait for sales gaming has NEVER been cheaper. Adjusted for inflation NES games would have cost 110-120 bucks in today's prices. I remember when I was a kid and my mom bought zelda LTTP it was 80 bucks or something stupid like that lol I remember buying legend of legaia for 70 when it came out with my allowance ;p took me so long to scrounge that up. So ya as much as I wish we could go back to the 49.99 it's not going to happen but 59.99 is hardly the end of the world. Either way I mostly PC game now because of how cheap it is. It may have cost more when I built this thing but the amount I've saved in steam sales and other DD services has more then payed for my PC in the last year and half.

I remember the days of $74.99 N64 titles.

Hell, I remember MegaMan X3, Street Fighter Alpha 2, Kirby's Dreamland 3 all being $74.99 as well.

The old PS1 Long Box days before they switched to regular CD cases and dropped their prices on games.

In 20+ years game prices haven't changed much. We should be happy.

Consoles lol

ITT: Newly released PC games arent $60

More often than not, they're $50. Companies like Craptivision are trying to change that, though. AC3, Hitman: Absolution, and 007 Legends are all $50.

UGGHH why are some people never happy...

You like to get a paycheck too right? These programmers do not program for free. Nor do YOU work for free. When there are usually 100+ people working on one game at a time it takes $60 a game to potentially even pay these programmers. If you want cheaper games then games willl have fewer bells n whistles... Real orchestrated music.. GONE.. Real bands GONE. Good voice acting GONE... Cinematics GONE... Cleaned up game play with as few bugs as possible GONE.

Games in general have stayed about the same average of $40-$60 for new releases. Some SNES games and Genesis topped $89.99 or Phantasy Star 4 or Virtua Racing was $100!

Pirates do not help the cause either.....

My bad. I guess they're trying to milk CoD, then. I've seen a few other games at $60 but most release at $50 or less.
