I read somewhere else on this board that the freezing issue is being caused by Miiverse. Yesterday, I was unable to play Nintendoland for more than 10 seconds before it froze. However, as soon as I turned off Wifi I had no issues whatsoever. So if you just want to give Nintendoland a try, try turning Wifi off.

Actually this is a good point, because the early 3DS crashes and problems (such as it saying "home menu" and taking AGES to actually go to said menu) went away when the wireless switch was turned off.

Nintendo just doesn't do successful online integration.

My wii u has been vertical the entire time it has been played and no issues with nsmbwu or nintendoland. And I have had wifi enabled. But, yes, I would contact Nintendo.

my wii u has frozen once, I was switching to system settings and it hung.

outside of that experience it's been flawless.

You don't need to register it to take advantage of the warranty. I didn't register mine, I just called up Nintendo and gave them the serial number.

Don't install the update and it wont freeze. I currently refused to agree on the tearms and conditions because they was stated to happen from the get go. I probably will never update my NTSC Wii U unless the update is confirmed to be safe by the general public.

An easy fix for this problem is to go into your settings for Nintendoland, select language, then select "English Only".

We had this exact problem yesterday, and some helpful folks in the miiverse pointed this out.
