400,000 sold first week.

So did the Wii once it exploded.

Or is this one of those times where 360 had supply issues but Nintendo was being stingy to create a demand?

400,000 is an okay number but nothing really to rejoice about.

Considering the only console to beat the Wii U's opening week since 2005 is the original Wii, I'd say it's a lot to rejoice about.

With all the never ending Nintendo doom and gloom, you would think the thing only sold 25 units, not one of the best console launches in history.

360 would have but they had serious supply issues for awhile

So is Nintendo...

the 400k estimate sold is not too bad, however there were over 1-2 million shipped. I think after the month is over the sales will slow down because it seems the majority of people who heard and or knew about this console coming out are mostly Nintendo Fans or Gamers in general.

It definitely won't be as successful as the Wii.

We shall see how well it sells at years end.

PS3 Console Sales are up to par to 360's now.

Nintendo is shipping units on a daily basis, stores are always getting shipments of Wii U's

Microsoft only had 2 shipments in 2005, they sold everything they had first day Nov 22nd and the next shipment was in Dec, obviously Wii sold more because Microsoft had no shipments to send out.

http://money.cnn.com/2005/10/07/commentary/game_over/column_gaming/index.htm

Cooper's prediction is more dire, saying there will only be between 300,000 and 350,000 units available in the U.S. on Nov. 22, when the system launches. (Cooper, in a note, said he expects two shipments from Microsoft (Research) this year one before launch and another in December.)
