It took them 6 years (Skyward Sword) to actually implement motion controls into a game that wasn't a glorified minigame collection. Many of their games just had waggle or avoided it all together. This is already happening with the Wii U. Mario doesnt use it outside of one mode, Pikmin 3 just offers a map on it.

Nintendo just keeps using gimmicks to stay relevant, but sadly they just aren't what they were. I'm sure fanboys will come in here and attack me, but this is coming from a long time Nintendo fan. Keep defending them if it makes you feel better about your purchase, but I'm done with them. I look forward to when some real next gen consoles come out.

I agree 100% and I was a die hard Nintendo fan, until I saw the light and let myself buy other systems. Fool me once, shame on me, fool me twice...

Am I the only one who wanted to point out that it's "Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me."?

Why do you play games you don't enjoy? Are you a masochist?

No, there are many of us. Many of us who have all Nintendo systems except Wii U.

I have a message (well...a question and a message) to everyone who called Mario Galaxy 2 a fanboy beacuse of his list:

How important do you consider review scores?

Because all he did was take the list of Wii game scoring 78 or above on Metacritic, remove all the music games, and post the list here. So, if you don't care about review scores at all, then you're good...so long as you didn't bash Zombie U for its early reviews, didn't laugh when you saw IGN's hardware review, didn't mock the Wii for having only 14 games rated 90 or above instead of 48, didn't praise a single game and cite its high review scores as evidence, etc.

But if you did do any of those things, you are a hypocrite.

The Motion Control is clearly designed for children, it involved big movements and inaccurate swipes

Being a PC gamer, I can understand how you wouldn't know much about consoles. But motion controls have made several genres at least playable on consoles, FPS (without aim-assist) probably being the most prominent.

You do know how business works, right? You have to sell things to make money. Unless, of course, you're saying you'd rather own a console with good games than a high-selling console with "crappy gimmicks forced in every game" and "very few worthwhile games", in which case I say: Do you remember the Dreamcast? See what "good games" Sega's producing now?

^ Exactly, also may I point out that Microsoft just announced pricing of the Surface tablets as STARTING at $900.00 lol....god knows how much they would charge for a screen gimmick as a result.

$900 isn't a bad price at all for a 64 gig tablet with a 10.6 inch display running Windows 8 pro. I paid $700 for my 64 gig iPad 4 and it doesn't have anywhere near as much utility as the Surcace.

Except for the fact that 1. They are competing with Apple in this model and it's overpriced to do that and 2. While the iPad and other tablets offer a "lite" computing experience creating a fracture in the line of netbook>ultrabook>notebook, the Surface fragments it even more by sort of hovering between "I'm a Notebook..no I'm a tablet...no a notebook..." and most causals will run from the price tag.

I agree though that it's actually some rather impressive content for $900 but I question if the demographic they are trying to hit really wants all that? Plus in the end it will still only offer as good a game playing experience as Microsoft allows, whereas Nintendo and the WiiU by comparison have a far more open ended approach.
