does anyone else hope the graphics of the PS4 and nextbox reach photo-realism?

We need to reach the 1995 toy story level of graphics first op:

Because fuzz that tries to pass as grass has to be convincing? If u believed it was photo realistic we would be looking at a link to and hd video, not some low res screen shots.

You are easily convinced, we get it.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qq7-hTVP9AE I posted this a while back, maybe you missed it.

You seriously think that looks like real life? Do you need your eyes checked? That looks like blurry mess of a N64 compared to real trees and water.

If you really think thats realistic im serious you need to get your eyes looked at.

Did you seriously compare that to N64? did I read that right?

I'm afraid you are reading it too literally.

He never said it looked like N64 graphics, he said that it looks like the 'blurry mess' of a N64 game compared to what real trees and water look like.

While the graphics are very impressive, they are not close to photo realism. Watch the YouTube clip again and then walk outside. I hope you can notice a difference!

Well obviously, it's not perfect like real life is, that's an obvious fact. What i'm stating is, there is photorealism, and crysis right now is still the best game out there that portrays it and that was back in 2007.

we are Decades away from photo realism

You are trying to compete with Real Life. It doesnt get better than real life, for one thing real life textures break down into the thousands of trillions. There is no computer capable of portraying a single tree with absolute precision. The lighting is Always wrong, the textures Always look muddy, it cannot be done. Im not saying it will never be done but when competing with real life textures, you better be bringing your a-game.
