Wii U is what the Wii should have been at launch back in 2005

Nintendo likes to make a profit on their consoles.

Personally, I can live with Gamecube and better level graphics. I think it was about that point where technology arrived at a level where art style could overcome any lingering deficiencies in 3D gaming.

Now that Nintendo is HD I don't see that the Wii U should be overly encumbered by its limitations.

I don't know yet what to feel about the new controller though.

Never said otherwise, though they make some INCREDIBLY stupid decisions. Especially lately.

That whole first generation of 3D gaming was horrible, especially the PS1 and 3DO (I owned both). I loved Symphony of the Night and a slim few other games but the PS1 was what led me to give up gaming for about 5 years.

I remember saying even back then... "who wants to play this pixelated, blocky crap, give me 2D gaming back!" You had awesome visuals like Chrono Trigger and SotN and Rayman out and then absolutely terrible 3D blocky crap flooding the PS1 and even the N64.

It wasn't until the Dreamcast lauched that 3D graphics were playable to me. So, yeah. I attribute the PS1 to me hating video games. Not a very good mark for a console imo....

I may be alone in this, but, whatever...

Completely agree TC. Nintendo has only just now caught uo with the PS3 and 360 with the Wii U and the Wii competed directly with the PS2 and Xbox based on hardware, despite what the labels say. Nintendo may have pulled the shades over everyone's eyes last gen but I'm not sure it will work this time around without all the casual sales. I'd strongly advise anyone considering getting a Wii U right now to hold off until it shows something substantial. This coming from a Nintendo fan with a Wii, Wii U, 360 and PS3.

I....what? Why would a controller with a screen (and all the same button as a PS3) prevent you from doing something a PS3 can?

no i tried resetting game i even start violent slamming cartridge on wall but all it does make static noise when i put into DS, the problem not fix! -ReconUnit
