A CPU is a very important part when working out the power of any machine, be it console or PC. Ever heard of bottlenecking, throttling, etc?

There is no point having a great GPU if the CPU is just going to hold it back and chug, is there?

Except it doesn't on the U, this has been discussed in far more technical forums and shown that the U's architecture is well suited to handle big things when games are optimized for the system.

The Wii U is 512-bit being in the 8th generation of gaming. The PS3 and Xbox 360 are 256-bit, they followed the 128-bit PS2. Now, the Wii U's bits aren't used totally for graphics but are shared among two systems, the console itself and the tablet, so the Wii U console is 256-bit and the tablet is 256-bit as well. So that is why graphics don't look much better (if any better) than the PS3 and Xbox 360.

what will they do when they hear the next xbox will have a 1.6 CPU?

Everything. PS3/360? Get a PC.

I don't see myself being able to play the PS3 Atelier games on the PC. Or Disgaea, or the Tales games. Or DOA5. Or... well, hundreds of other console exclusives.

The Wii U isn't the only console to have exclusives, you know.
