WTF? North America and UK = English BUT get "Deluxe" and "Premium" Wii U???

#1HellsingOrgPosted 12/5/2012 4:46:24 AM
So let me get this straight.

Deluxe is a word that exists and is used in the UK and in North America.
Premium is a word that exists and is used in North America and in the UK.

Both are English names and everyone there mostly speaks English.

soo.... in this day and age when the world is becoming closer connected together why the f*** do companies still like to segregate gamers so much?

they could have easily name the Wii U premium for all regions or deluxe for all regions.
the same goes for Swapnote/Letterbox or MK7 tracks like Maka Wuhu being Wuhu Island Loop.

I mean are we serious?
Stop changing the f***ing names and LEAVE IT THE SAME FOR ALL ENGLISH SPEAKING REGIONS!!!

If a character is called Joey in North America well stupid UK Nintendo will change it to like Bill just because they felt like it.

Already games that come from Japan have bad translations so we don't need alternate english translations for the same products in different english regions.

Anyone else feel the same way?

Because of different markets. UK = Europe = European names
US = North-America = bastardized English

its the same with FF13. they had "optima change" and changed it to "paradigm change!"
they both sound dumb, why not keep them both? lol

but you know what annoys me more than the name change?
the EU basic set doesnt come with a sensor bar. American one does. What's with that? wanna save a bit of extra cash, nintendo? its ok though, i bought one cheap from ebay, but still!

They just know that different things sound more appealing in different regions.

For example...
Japan has 'Girls Mode'.
America has 'Style Savvy: Trendsetters'.
Europe has 'New Style Boutique'.

Being from Europe, I know that I find a game title like 'Style Savvy: Trendsetters' to sound completely unappealing. ^.^; It kinda comes across as a tacky shovelware game for 'hip teens'. Style Boutique, on the other hand, sounds more appealing to me, because it sounds more... refined, perhaps? And I know that most European people will probably not understand what 'Girls Mode' would even be about.

On the other side of things, I've heard a lot of people from America thinking 'Style Boutique' sound dumb, because they much prefer the idea that it's all about their own fashion, not the store. And Japan likely finds both the American and European titles to be completely silly, because it's nowhere near as cute and adorable as Girls Mode.

So yeah, I think it's completely understandable why they change things like that. :3

You you got it wrong premium and deluxe is way to say what exactly comes with the new console such premium being a basic set with just the console and deluxe being the console and all the extra items included with it.

Last time I checked Super Mario Deluxe for gameboy color was called "Deluxe" everywhere in the world.

So Europe, UK and North America all got Super Mario DELUXE
