I've seen Google maps before and it's always been really poor quality and nothing like this.

I have seen street view images, in super poor quality on google maps.

Also, in one of the videos I saw, it shows the camera, ABOVE A FLOCK OF BIRDS, AND ANOTHER THING ABOVE A SKYDIVER

had no idea Google Maps did that, high up in the air.

My guess is its similar to 3D content. It has to be filmed with panorama in mind. So I assume the app will provide panorama content to watch daily/weekly etc.

You can't just watch a TV show and suddenly look around the set if thats what you where thinking.

PS+ has paid it's self for me. So from here on out I will refer to any new games as free.

That's the Panorama view app, which is not part of Google Maps or Streetview. That app is just a bunch of movies filmed with a 360 camera, then edited so it seems like you can truly look around.

This. It isn't going to be anything like Google Maps (or earth) where you can just go wherever you want on the planet and look around... based on some of the comments it sounds like that's what some people are expecting.. o_O

Usually it's from years ago. I imagine famous, busy areas get updated more often. If you live in a small town it will probably date a few years back.

Actually, if I remember correctly, Google got sued at least a few years back for using live satellite feeds, there is a limit now saying they can't use one until its 2 years old or something like that because they can't possibly get consent from everyone in the satellite images, that is also why they aren't as clear on details anymore, originally there were people using it for surveillance purposes apparently
