Wii games do look better!

#1JellitoePosted 12/6/2012 11:52:21 AM
I was testing out some games on my Wii and Wii U to see if there was any difference.
Tested Metroid Corruption, Twilight Princess and Skyward Sword.
The games looked much better on the Wii U and Metroid seemed to run faster and smoother.
There was less of the stair effect on the graphical images..
My wii is on component cables not composite and there was big difference, especially on metroid which seems to completely transform.

In SA2, it's Super Sonic and Hyper Shadow.

Unfortunately I have no way of taking pictures from my screen, and using a digital camera or my phone, will not show anything besides color difference since the resolution will be actual lost.

Wii games do and don't look better all at the same time.

Do because they're running through HDMI and even if the game output is still 480, it's 480 being sent through 1080p which is still far better than component 480p any day of the week.
Some of the games look way sharper and more colorful than they did before.

Don't because if you thought the games looked bad before, wait until you're able to see every game right down to the last pixel. There's a LOT of dithering that got blended away at 480p, but now it's visible to absurd levels. It is really obvious now that the games are 480 resolution, as there's more aliasing now than there ever seemed to be.

Yes, I notices this alot in skyward sword, being as clear as it is now, the artsy look isnt as nice as it use to be, but twilight princess and metroid look great.

And what I meant by look better, I did not mean that all of a sudden they look like games on my alienware, just that things look more smooth and colors are more bright.

At TC: Yes, I have noticed the difference. Sadly, though, I sold my Metroid Corruption game, so I can't say about that one, however, Twilight Princess, Skyward Sword, Other M and Smash Bros (to mention a few) look a whole lot better, and some even run smoother.

I've already tried taking pictures with my 3DS' camera, but it's impossible to tell the difference with such low res pictures.
