and somehow this doesn't disturb me due to the glut of FPS and horrible 1st party franchises xbox has sullied like perfect dark, banjo, and the Fable games

How convenient of you to fail to mention all the other great games on it that arent FPSs.

When does anybody ever talk about those?

I think core gamers got so grossed out by the wii's motion controls and lack of AAA titles that the wii-u has put a lot of people off. Everyone except hardcore nintendo fanboys are taking a wait and see approach this time that's why you still see wii-u's in stores.

Indeed.

This pretty much is the nail in the 720's coffin. If it's truly that much more powerful, it'll likely cost significantly more as well.

Anyone who's been following Microsoft news knows that the company is not doing well financially at all, and if they wanna go completely bankrupt they can try sell the system at a significant ($500+) loss.

Otherwise, it looks like the analyst news that said the 720 would cost $500 at launch will likely prove true, and pretty much nobody will buy the system except a few hardcore gamers.

/Sigh

It's not true.

The article is Examiner reporting on an article reported by Gamingbolt that's reporting on a rumor reported by Dualpixels.

TC is trolling.

Uh huh, of course it is, just like $600 was the final nail in the PS3s coffin right? 70 million units later....

You do know that the PS3 only managed to turn a profit by 2010(Or was it 2009? Can't remember) right? Not to mention the Economy was much better in 2006 than it is now. Barely anyone bought the PS3 back in 06. You think people are going to spend $500+ now?

You do know that the major glut of PS3s cost was launch an entirely new disc format and a super expensive proprietary CPU, neither of which are happening with the rumored Xbox 720, right...?

I just can't wait to see how much it will cost, or the PS4 for that matter.

Why compare nintendo wii u to xbox 720? Nintendo has always been about content (games), not the most powerful system.
It's $349 for the black wii u. Xbox 720 will obviously be more expensive with more power.
