"If you liked the SNES, then you liked jrpgs"

Or fighting games, since that's what people were addicted to at the time.

Nintendo had almost nothing to do with contributing to the JRPG collection for the SNES.

Nintendo had everything to do with it, considering they're the ones who need to license and convince 3rd party developers their platform is the most suitable for their new games.

Most of the RPGs this gen are probably going to be on 3DS since Japan's been shifting more towards handhelds.

Hopefully the 3DS gets a bit of them, since I don't have money for a Vita yet. The PSP had a better library of JRPGs than the DS did.

They have them:

Shin Megami Tensei IV
Etrian Odyssey IV
Devil Summoner: Soul Hackers (remake)
Devil Survivor Overclocked
Dragon Quest VII (remake)
Bravely Default: Flying Faerie

Looks like 3DS will crush home consoles again.

Can't wait until DQVII Remake gets localized. This would complete my DQ collection. That is, outside of X.

No, the topic title is wrong. I am not a fan of JRPG's (they can be fun though), but I love the SNES.

I loved the SNES, and JRPGS are hackneyed, cliched, convoluted garbage.

So there will be HD Soul Hackers and SMT4?

Not to mention, 3DS Fire Emblem. Not sure they'll port that to Wii U, either.
