Nintendo block 18+ rated content from being viewed/bought at certain times

Sorry if this has been posted already. I had a quick search but couldn't find anything.

Just saw this on Eurogamer, it's absolutely ridiculous to be honest. I'm really enjoying my Wii U, despite Nintendo's bizarre design choices, but things like this really put me off taking their systems seriously when it comes to online usage.

It's nothing to do with European culture. No European online retailer sets restricted opening hours for purchase of age-rated content.

I should have specified NoE, sorry. Either way, it's a completely ridiculous policy. Nintendo's online plan always seems to be take 1 step forward, 2 steps back.
