American parents do seem to be crazy involved in their children's lives. I knew 21 year old Americans at uni who wouldn't do things because their parents wouldn't let them.

just look at all the great US only games :(

No, I mean American young adults seem to have trouble becoming independent from their parents, even when they don't even live with them anymore.
