Nintendo cares more about themselves than us

Yeah, Nintendo should have an $800 console and sell it for $100 and lose billions and go out of business just to please the trolls...

But keep living in your world where online 2D Mario will be absolutely perfect and Nintendo's just too lazy to implement it.

Because an online mode is going to affect the single player, amirite?

Yes, you are, actually.

Games have a limited budget. When you have to allocate resources in your budget to create an online mode, you must take resources away from your other modes, including single player. It also affects local multiplayer - heck, there're many games out nowadays that don't even include local, yet have online!

Nintendo is known for throwing money at their developers. They don't need to take away resource from anywhere. If it was any company in the world to have limited resource. Nintendo would be the last on the list to have limited resources. Heck, you guys say Nintendo have gave Mario Bros U a limit But it is funny they found time and resource to put in miiverse and DLC functionality. Quite funny indeed.

Let me put it to you another way.

If Nintendo included online play, they would've had to use resources used for something. Perhaps that something was Miiverse, perhaps it was single player, perhaps the critically-acclaimed Challenge mode, perhaps DLC. But they couldn't just get money from thin air.

Games have limited budget, sure. But we're talking about a Nintendo funded project here. They have the money. Look at the Wii sales all this guys bring up all the time.

The lack of online multiplayer in NSMBU and Nintendo Land is less "they don't have the money" and more "it would be crap due to the physics in Mario (for the former)" and "it doesn't need it (for the latter)".

What? The physics doesn't stop it from being a local multiplayer.

Nintendo lost money last year. That means they're going to be a little more conservative with how they spend their money. Likewise, most of their money has gone into researching, developing, manufacturing, releasing, and advertising the Wii U. They also have dozens of games in-development right now.

Also, "this guys"?

These guys, pardon.

Honestly, the Wii U could have been a lot more but Nintendo does not want to lose a smidge more on the console sales.

Think about it.... they profit after one game is sold so they are just having fun partying with money while gamers get ripped off on a product thats mediocre.

I'm sure they could cut their profits slightly away from their employees and in return, give the gamers a better console.

Think about it....

Sure, it is all a business but in the end, Nintendo wants more profit than Sony did with the PS3. So greedy. All that extra profit is going into their little pockets instead of pumping out GOOD 1st Party Games and buying third party devs to make games.

Nintendo = Selfish.

This is an incredibly dumb topic.

They already take a loss on the system. Its foolish to call it a ripoff.

And Nintendo is always devloping good games which is what a good chunk of the money goes to not Iwata bathing in a diamond tub touching himself naughtily with bars of gold like you seem to think he does. He took a voluntary salary cut awhile ago.

"I'm sure they could cut their profits slightly away from their employees and in return, give the gamers a better console."

So basically you want employees to make a crappy salary so they could've put more money into making the Wii U make them lose more money per sale?

Its this sort of entitlement that sickens me about this generation. You do realize those employees all have families and hopes and dreams too right?

There is NOTHING wrong with making a profit so long as its through honest means.

Does local multiplayer have the possibility of you phasing through players and platforms because of lag?

Actually, you do not know what their are using their profits for. Most of it is probably given to the CEO and employees. Noticed that Nintendo could not even get Pikmin 3 nor Luigi's Mansion on the Wii. All you will get out of the Wii U life cycle is one zelda game, 2 mario games. Is that really worth buying a system from them?

Nintendo can choose to have a strong line-up and pump out great titles early in the system's year but instead, they rely on the system being mediocre and at a high price to make sure they profit from the system+1 game. That way, they dont care if their library is poor since they already broke-even. Without having a RISK, Nintendo has less pressure to get third party support and GREAT 1st party titles out.

I don't want to live on this planet anymore................

Wii fit U, Game and Wario and Pikmin 3 already disprove you plus whatever retros game is.

No, Nintendo HAVE the money for it. if Nintendo wanted they could of delayed it for three months just to add single extra level. And Hey! It is nsmbu not a brand new engine. By time they finish the gamepad and squirrel suit mechanics they programmers were done and plus the netcode progammers don't do the same job as the core programmers.
