SNES for sure. The N64 was great since it was so new and different, but it's been downhill from there. The GC was a great machine but it was just too similar to the PS2 which had so many more great games on it, and then the casual/gimmick age began.

gamecube.

every 1st party game actaully had a game on the system and arguably the best in their respective fields.

metriod prime
windwaker
Fzero GX
pikmin
paper mario
mario kart
star fox adventures (at least it had a game and a 2nd one)
smash bros melee

best controller from nintendo and had stronger hardware than the ps2. i started on the SNES and have vague memories of the NES but imo the gamecube was the peak of nintendo for me.

also at the time the GBA had a ton of games that kept me busy. best time for gaming with me, was also still playing my SNES at the time.

I agree with pretty much all of this, except I'd swap the usage of the GC and PS2. IMO PS2 reigns as the most overrated console in existence. SNES was Nintendo's best, so many great, timeless games on there.

Being a fan of rpg's I would consider the SNES years the gold age of Nintendo.

All Nintendo consoles onwards have suffered quantity wise but not necessarily in quality.

PS2 had the most good games, but Gamecube had the best games even if there were only a handful.
