When do you guys expect a price cut?

While I do agree that they'll likely go with a price cut when the other consoles release, the price was far from the main reason the Wii sold extremely well early on.

That's the only legit answer, UNLESS the Wii U does really bad (which it doesn't seem to be doing right now, but we'll see later when it's been out for a few months).
The 3DS got a price cut because it underperformed quite a bit (though not as bad as the Vita, it still sold way below expectations), so it dropped when it made sense for it to drop. It might not make sense for the Wii U to drop as fast, or faster, but that remains to be seen.

So, if it doesn't undersell, the price drop will be not too long before the PS4/720 come out. Or maybe when their price tag is announced at the earliest so that Nintendo can better compete before they come out.

If a price cut was going to happen, I'd say it'd be along side the new consoles launching.

3DS price cut was about 7 months into the system.


The 3DS launched March 27th 2011. The price was slashed August 12th 2011. That's just over 4 months.

$250 for a handheld was just too much. They had too. $300 for a home console is reasonable.

When people stop act like they are getting paid to Troll a message board for months ;p

I doubt you'll see a price cut, they'll probably just remodel a 300 dollar console with no game and a better hard drive, around summer.

Certainly not before the Deluxe Digital Promotion ends; there's no way they'll cut the base price on top of having that discount program still in place. After it ends, I still think there'll be at least a year to go.

around 1 year and maybe sooner if the PS4 and Xbox 720 come out next year and have a $399 price tag and have a ungodly amount of power over the Wii U.

this is what gonna happen.. since wii u spec is so weak.. in a few years wii u will keep competing against ps3 and 360. even after ps4/720 came out.
