Shaun, I don't think you understand. If all the developers go out of business, and the console makers they develop games for follow suit, while Nintendo continues making money, what do you think is going to happen? I'll tell you what, Bayonetta 2 is going to become the standard. You know, Nintendo rescuing. Semi-popular but ultimately broke franchise and demanding exclusivity in return.

I know it's hard to imagine people, but Nintendo is in great position to corner the home console market in the next 10 or so years if the industry doesn't change course. Wii u sales don't matter as long as it makes a small profit and/or doesn't break their increasingly large bank.

By the time a new console gets released by any company, it is already inferior to the leader, which is the PC. Nintendo knows that they cannot win the power race, so they won't even try. That is why Nintendo does one thing the other console/handheld makers don't. Their hardware is based around their games, not the other way around, because games sell hardware.

BTW I agree with you TC. Sadly I must now explain that I have a PS3, 360 and a wii so as not to incur the wrath of trolls who will call me a "Nintendrone" or Nintendo Defense Force or some stupid s***.

For sure. It's so funny to say that Uncharted sucks and you get called an XBOX fanboy even though you hate Microsoft and only have a 360 because your gf wanted to get one...

Both the ps3 and the 360 had more highly rated games than the wii, that is how you determine who "won" not by sales, which mean nothing to real gamers but everything to nintendrones.

That is not how you determine who won. Success. What do you think that means? Now, which console was the most successful?

What makes those games so highly rated? Graphics. Look at Uncharted for one example. How is it that an incredibly linear, casual, corridor shooter gets perfect scores? Graphics.

I don't mean to sound arrogant, but I don't think this is something you can really disagree with if you're smart and look at the big picture. Nintendo is making money, the other two and the third parties that support them are losing money, a lot of money, and show no signs of reversing that any time soon.

The only things that could change this trend are a massive turn around in the global economy that causes people to be a lot more comfortable dropping 60 bucks on a routine basis. This isn't likely because history indicates that it takes awhile after a recovery for consume confidence to truly make a comeback OR a drastic drop in development costs, which isn't likely either because all signs are pointing to the exact opposite. Dev costs aren't just going to go up, they'll more than likely double over the next 4-5 years.
