Whatever happened to all that talk about Wii U having best versions of games?

You really have to admire this guy's persistence.

No, you really don't.

Anyway, TC, you're flat out wrong about Sonic and All-Stars Racing Transformed as the Wii U version did have a nasty glitch until it was patched recently. I own the game and I it plays just fine. In fact, now it might be less glitchy than the other versions if the complaints on the other versions' boards are any indication.

Furthermore, the Wii U version allegedly has a slighly better, more stable framerate, 5 player local multiplayer (no other version currently has this feature) and exclusive minigames.
I would say all this makes the Wii U version the best.

Proof of the better framerate?

I wouldn't have concrete proof, which is why I used the word "allegedly" in my original post.

However, there have been a number statements made about how the framerate for the Wii U version compares to the others.

IGN's review (yes, I know you don't trust them): http://www.ign.com/articles/2012/11/30/sonic-all-stars-racing-transformed-wii-u-review

A Eurogamer article: http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2012-08-16-sumo-wii-u-graphics-on-par-with-playstation-3-maybe-even-better

A post on Giant Bomb's forum that cites a posting on SEGA's forum by Steve Lycett, who worked on the game.

http://www.giantbomb.com/sonic-all-stars-racing-transformed/61-38173/sumo-digital-reply-to-claims-of-wii-u-versions-horrible-fps/35-562109/

Once again, I admit that what I have presented might not be irrefutable evidence but at the very least the visuals are at least on par with the PS3 and XBox360. However, if you drop the issue of the "better" framerate from my argument, I believe what is left supports my claim that the Wii U version is currently the best version of the game. Once the PC version comes out, who knows? For now though, the Wii U is the best.

Oh one more advantage of the Wii U version: being able to play on the GamePad (single or multiplayer). It might not be significant but it certainly doesn't detract from the experience. I'm grateful whenever a Wii U game has this feature.

hes basing these off technical comparisons of framerate/texture parity/resolution/tearing/shaders/lighting etc. theres nothing subjective about one version of a game being muddier or having no vsynch, for example.

Oh did the title of this thread mention best graphics or best versions? Since I can actually read I will put my money on "best version" which in many cases is in fact subjective. Try again.

oh man u mad

He's got a point. Before the wii-u was released the forum was filled with talk of how the ports on the wii-u would be completely superior.
People were even going as far to suggest that they couldnt stand playing at 30fps sub 1080p and that the wii u would deliver full 1080p 60fps.

Now it's "Graphics don't matter, it's all about the gameplay"

It always fall back to that on Nintendo boards.

I trust you and this proof (until further information is provided), thank you. The 5 player coop does seem a nice advantage for the Wii U version.
