The Vita also had 5 more days of sales than the Wii U in Japan.

Also, your numbers are inaccurate. The Vita's launch Week in Japan had the system selling 324,859 units. The Week following the US and European launches, Sony announced a sales figure of 1.2 million Vitas sold worldwide. However, at this point, there were already 578,812 Vitas sold in Japan. For now, let's ignore the minor markets. We can now estimate the Vita's 1st-week sales:

Japan: 324,859
US and EU: 621,188 (1.2 million - 578,812)
----------------------------
TOTAL: 946,047

So...yeah. The Vita sold 36,047 more units than the Wii U did, guys! And it only had, like, a 5 day head start in the biggest handheld market!

Excuses.

This. Can't believe Xeeh hasn't given up yet.

The Vita wasn't an immediate flop.

It started becoming a flop when it's sales per week became insanely low (9k-10k).

After letting it sink in for a moment, I've decided that the TC is saying that Sony has a bigger rabid fanbase who will immediately buy any of their products without waiting to see if it's worthwhile or not than does Nintendo.

I'm inclined to agree.

Really... really that's what you are going with. One look at 3DS, wii and gamecube and it's obvious the biggest rabid fanbase award goes to Nintendo. And vita is and was way more worthwhile then WiiU, I mean the only reason to get wiiU now is for zombieU...

I think one major difference is that with Nintendo systems, people know for sure that there will be good first party games.
