I don't know if Nintendo have announced a Virtual Console or not, but let's assume there are games coming.

The game in question here is Pokemon Stadium. I only played it a couple of times, but I know there was Gameboy connectivity with Pokemon Red/Blue. If Nintendo were to release Red/Blue on the 3DS eShop with a few added features (such as online trading), could it connect to the Wii U to play Stadium?

I believe that is technically possible.

Will it happen? I doubt it, but it should be technically possible.

Sure it is possible. The question is, will Nintendo bother to ever implement it.

Technically possible? Yes.
Will they do it? Probably not.

I am not sure if and when there will be 3DS and U connectivity. I spoke with several Nintendo employees about this issue and they all said that the company treats both as separate entities, and that games on one console will not work on the other (coding being a big reason).

It would be nice, but don't expect it to happen. Just see what happens when you do get that type of connectivity (PS3 and Vita). You get one console with no games and developers don't know what to do, and you lose twice.

They would need to put a lot of effort into that.

So no.

Nintendo would have to modify the 3DS's GameBoy emulator to allow it to act like a Transfer Pak, and the N64 emulator to allow it to receive the signal wirelessly, but it could be done.

Entirely possible. Will Nintendo do it? Not a chance, they are the laziest devs out there.

It's pointless as hell, I don't see why people would bother with that. Just make an updated console version that features all current Pokemon.
