Were the graphics for this console overstimated?

No its not I posted multiple articles that proved this while no one can post anything claiming opposite. Its weaker then the 360 and based off of 1997 gamecube tech.

Gamecube could do 1080p 60FPS?

Nice.

None of the current titles are running at native 1080p at 60FPS, many third-party parts are even lagging behind the 360/PS3 in performance/visuals. I'm not saying the console isn't capable of 1080p, but based on what we've seen thusfar from first and third-party games, it seems doubtful.

It's this kind of glaring lack of knowledge coupled with sweeping statements that makes this board in particular one of the worst on this site (Which itself is an achievement).

Can't find the article for Cloudberry Kingdom anymore (It was a gonintendo article) but we will hear of it again as it's release gets closer (It was delayed till 2013).

Your idea about 1080p being doubtful is based on false info and is therefore incorrect.

Also how does it logically make sense to you that 1080p on a system released after the PS360 being doubtful when the PS360 had select titles at 1080p.

You'll notice I said "current" as in "out right now" - it remains to be seen whether those games will be truly native 1080p or the usual upscaled resolution of the 360/PS3. Until those titles are actually out, it remains to be seen. Also, if you didn't read my response to the other poster, it's been proven that Trine 2 is not running at 1080p, but 720 at 30 FPS, though it does have many of the graphical enhancements of the PC version, so there's that.

Graphically the Wii U is the weakest of the three systems as shown by Batman Arkham City and Darksiders 2. It does however have it's own strong points such as the tablet controller.

Monster Hunter Tri Ultimate is out for the WiiU
Transformers Prime is out for the WiiU
Rayman Legends demo is out for the WiiU
Scribblenauts Unlimited is out for the WiiU
Skylanders Giants is out for the WiiU

They are all still 1080p native.

Where did i ever mention Trine 2 is 1080p?

Trine 2 has always been 720p locked for the WiiU

Congrats on representing Gfaqs in the best possible way

So goal posts move again i see.

We've now gone from no 1080p games at all on the WiiU to no current 1080p games on the WiiU to no 1080p graphically intensive games on the WiiU.

When you recover from all that goon your obviously drunk on then you can point out where anyone said the WiiU was a 100% 1080p native machine.

Far stronger graphically than the PS3 and 360 were with their launch titles. If the PS3 and 360 get their 6-7 year leverage, then so should a Wii U, but since we aren't 6-7 years in the future to make such a comparison, launch titles of each console are the only true comparison we can do right now.

*eats popcorn and enjoys the show*...

*decides to yell at the screen a little*...

I think based on all the resources out there, the Wii-U is a step-up from current gen consoles (PS3 / 360).

The ports argument really doesn't work because by that logic, the PS3 is the worse console as most of it's first 4-5 year catalog is much worse than the 360's in terms of performance.

What changed?

When Dev's started putting work into the PS3 version and writing code separately rather than trying to develop the same game on consoles that worked completely differently.

This logic in my opinion applies to the Wii-U. Games like Batman AC haven't been optimized for the Wii-U from the ground up and that's why we are seeing a discrepancy in quality.

I do think the PS4 / 720 will be above the Wii-U again however. But, I already have a gaming PC.

Now I don't own a Wii-U yet, but if the other consoles can only offer improved graphics, I think that gives the Wii-U tremendous value as it potentially can offer a unique game experience, rather than a sub-par PC experience.

It's like saying the WiiU is a 1080p native system because it can display Tetris at 1080p

Im still waiting for you to pull your head out of the sand and point out where i said it was a 100% 1080p native system.

The PS3 has some 1080p games, have you heard anyone call it a 1080p native system. No so stop applying your failed understanding of the term to this.

No console (Not Durango and Orbis) is or will be 1080p native (Meaning it renders everything at 1080p rather than upscaling some aspects/games which aren't 1080p) for awhile yet.

Now that you know that go back to burying your head in the sand if you like.
