Were the graphics for this console overstimated?

The real question here is, does anyone have any clue at all as to what they're talking about

Only Pachter knows the true power of the Wii U

Pachter doesn't know **** about ****.

The point is for just as many devs that claim it to be more powerful there are devs claiming it not to be.

I could question the validity of the in-favor devs too. Maye they have something to gain by making false claims. Hows that?

It's either more powerful, less powerful or on par and the general concensus seems to be that it's on par.

They are still learning how to develop for the system. Incorrectly coding something into a system will lead to bad performance (the console isn't significantly more powerful, so it can't compensate for the screwed up code). I still think we should wait for the next wave of games before coming to conclusions. The Aliens dev claims that the Wii U version will play and look better graphically (he says "trust me on that") than the other two systems and that it's due to the system having more modern tech. He already claims that his game will look better on Wii U, and that's before E3, which is before the final advancements to the dev kits (before increases in clock speeds etc). That's not saying that I'm placing him over the negative claims, (perhaps he's had better luck than the other devs with understanding the system), but people seem to forget the positives and tend to stick with the negatives.

Its not exactly a feat if a new system can compare graphically with a 5 year old system. I very much doubt the graphics will improve much over the PS3, especially with the poor CPU bottlenecking the whole system.

Hey its the hypocrite! This guy here has spent the last year and a half defending the Vita against trolls and carrying on about how people who bash systems are losers! Amazing to find you on here doing the same thing!

Anyways, since he is also new to gaming and system launches, here is an idea of just how much graphics change over the course of a systems life.

Release game

And this is what the Wii U is at for launch game graphics
http://images.vg247.com/current//2012/09/trine-2-wii-u-4.jpg

Now imagine the same leap that the Xbox 360 had between those first two games graphically and imagine what games for the Wii U will look like in a few years.

Oh and Trine 2 for the Wii U (the 3rd screen) runs at 60fps and 1080p, something neither the PS3/360 or even a mid-ranged PC can accomplish.

Im a hypocrite now for pointing out a fact? The CPU is bottlenecking the system. This is going to prevent a large increase to game visuals. This is a fact. And your last statement about Trine is just flat out wrong. Go whine somewhere else.

BTW, Anyone using Trine 2 as an example here is the same as people who don't know the difference between composite and component. In other words, you don't know jack..

Even the regular trolls understand Trine 2 to be graphically-based and superior on the Wii U, which you can't comprehend.

Before launch people were saying this was gonna be a quad core monster with an SSD, 7770 and Blu Ray.

After launch people were still lying to themselves even when presented with proof.

Most overestimated console in history.

It's not about graphics vs gameplay, it's about profits vs gameplay. Profits are more important than gameplay in this forum. -lgi on the Wii U messageboard

Pretty much everybody has to hype something.
