its actually surprising considering how weak wii u is.. with performance on par with ps3/360, one would expect they selling it with profit.

i suspect the poor outdated touchscreen controller is the real culprit.

It's a good thing they're not selling very many then.

It's actually having one of the biggest console openings in history (only behind Wii and PS2 IIRC), so the good thing is that they also sell enough games per system to profit right away.

No it isn't.

I find it hard to believe that the Wii-U is worth more than the retail price.

Not worth more than what we are paying, but worth more than what Retailers are paying.

Oh so now Nintendo fanboys can be wrong?

Implying that DemonDog666's a fanboy. Or do you just label anyone who pays attention to Nintendo as a "fanboy"?

Worldwide, yes it is.

Compared with PS3 & 360, for example:

US month 1
360: 326k
PS3: 197k
Wii U: 425k

Japan week 1 + week 2
360: 53k
PS3: 124k
Wii U: 435k

After the price drop the 3DS sold at a loss. It is back to profit now.

Heres my say on the DVD/blue ray thing.

Why would you want to wear out the drive in your 350-400 dollar gaming machine playing DVDs/blurays anyways when you can pick up a player for 20 dollars?

Of course, it doesn't excuse the fact that the WiiU cant, but just that its kinda silly to use that as a detriment to a gaming console. You shouldnt be wearing out your drives like that anyways.
