NintendologicalPosted 12/21/2012 6:17:37 AM | Vegeta1000 posted...From a game library stand point. Was there not enough quality titles or too much shovelware? I won't waste time with long lists, but the Wii has grown to be a worthwhile platform at the end of its cycle. It would have been painful for early adopters and first year owners, but now the Wii is a standout platform. What it lacked in consistent releases and robust 3rd party support it makes up for with some stellar offerings from Ubisoft, SEGA and Capcom. You can't go wrong with House of the Dead Overkill, Mad World, Red Steel, No More Heroes, Tatsuonoko vs. Capcom and Monster Hunter Tri. Wii is like what...$75 used? That's worth it just for the games I named. --- Your uncle was so dumb he paid the full price of a new PS2 to rent it for a week? Your family tree must be a straight line" - Finlandia |
Yoshi7720Posted 12/21/2012 6:20:01 AM | What do you mean Nintendological, most people were very disappointed by Red Steel. The second one got a better rap ... or is it wrap. Hm. |
The_Shadow_LinkPosted 12/21/2012 6:20:50 AM | I could name the 30-40 so games I have for the console that I love like others have... But I know that there is 10 times as much shovelware that got released for the console... and probably sold 10 times as much as certain games as well. I'm not joking on that.
Carnival Games, which is absolutely terrible and got some of the most scathing comments for a game I have seen (see this wiki link http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carnival_Games) Sold 1.5 Million. That's more sales than Zack and Wiki, Muramasa, No More Heroes (and note they where happy with just 300,000 sales for this game), Okami and Trauma Center. Combined.
And that's just one random shovelware game. I don't even want to go any further into the others like the loathful Just Dance series (Which shouldn't even be a series due to how abysmal the first game was, but hey. Public being idiots made it so.) In that regard. Console is a disappointment to me. --- Wanting to become a wolf to end all of my life's problems. Luthor_Posted 12/21/2012 6:27:15 AM | If you only owned a Wii, you got screwed and it was a major disappointment.
If you onwed a Wii and one of the HD Twins, you had a good combo.

Tsutarja495Posted 12/21/2012 6:34:49 AM | I wasn't disappointed with it, it was fine for me as my only 7th gen console. Standouts for me are Xenoblade (second favorite RPG ever behind Pokemon Yellow, which is riding purely on nostalgia at this point), and Skyward Sword (the motion controls felt amazing). I have about 20 games I like that I own, and there's still a few more I'm looking into now. I don't need a huge library, I don't really have the time or money to get tons of games. |
